Josh Forbes

  • Current Position: Josh Forbes is currently in his fourth season as the Head Varsity Coach for Butler Golden Tornado Baseball.
  • Coaching Achievements: Under Forbes’ leadership, the team made it to the WPIAL 6A playoffs in both the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
  • Previous Coaching Experience:
    • In the spring of 2015, Forbes served as a volunteer assistant coach for Greenville High School.
    • He was the catching coach at Wittenberg University during the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
    • Forbes coached collegiate summer baseball from 2015 to 2018 in the Prospect League with the Butler Blue Sox, where he served as the pitching/catching coach.
  • Player and Coaching Background:
    • Forbes played baseball at Seton Hill University, where he was a three-year starter and a student assistant coach in his final year.
    • During his playing career at Seton Hill, Forbes had an impressive offensive season as a sophomore with a batting average of .388, 24 RBI’s, 7 doubles, and a .451 OBP.
    • Seton Hill teams, under Forbes’ involvement, accumulated 172 wins and only 56 losses in his four-year career. They made four straight regional appearances and won the Atlantic Regional in 2014, advancing to the D2 College World Series in Cary, North Carolina.
  • Education: Forbes majored in Communications and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Seton Hill.
  • Personal Life: Josh Forbes resides in Gibsonia, PA, with his wife, Holly.
