Ryan enters 15th year with Chase, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a storied background in baseball.
After a standout pitching career at Shaler Area High School, Juran was selected to participate in the 2004 WPIAL All-Star Game, where he earned the title of Most Valuable Pitcher.
He went on to play Division I baseball at Duquesne University from 2005-2009. During his four seasons, Juran achieved 11 wins and pitched over 215 career innings. In March of 2008, he was named Atlantic 10 Conference Pitcher of the Week. Juran’s seven wins during his junior year were instrumental in helping the Dukes achieve a program-best 4th place finish at the Atlantic 10 Championships.
In addition to his college career, Juran played elite college summer league baseball, contributing to the Rockville Express’s victory in the Cal Ripken Sr. League and pitching for the Hawaii Allii’s of the Hawaii Collegiate Baseball League.
Juran graduated from Duquesne University with a dual degree in Secondary Education and History, and he recently obtained certification in Special Education. He taught for 15 years in Pittsburgh Public Schools.
